Fournit à l 'armée britannique au titre du Prêt Bail le M 10 fut utilisé par ceux ci non dans un rôle anti char mais comme appui feu
En effet les Anglais s'étaient rendus compte des faiblesses du canon de 76 mm face aux nouveaux chars allemands. Ils décidèrent de remplacer le canon américain par le canon de 17 POUNDER mark IV Le contre poids qui permet de reconnaître un Achilles au premier coup d 'œil fut placé à coté du frein de bouche du canon.
Cette disposition permettait l installation de ce canon sans procéder à des trop grosses modifications de la tourelle Le diamètre du tube entraîna aussi l 'installation d'un collier de réduction sur le masque de tourelle Seul bémol à cette pièce. L 'élévation en site était moindre par contre la puissance de destruction de ce canon était importante
L 'Achilles transportait 50 obus en caisse
versions furent construites le Achilles IC de production initiale et le Modèle Il C qui possédait un, intérieur de tourelle parfaitement adapté aux exigences britanniques. De plus des plaques de blindage supplémentaires pouvaient être fixées sur la tourelle

The ACHILLES
Furnished to the British Army with the land lease program the M 10 was used by those not in an anti tank role but as support fire
Indeed the English had realized the weaknesses of the 76 mm gun in front of the new German tanks.
They decided to replace the American gun by the british gun 17 Pounder mark IV
It’s possible to recognize immediately the Achilles with the conterbalance placed side issue of the the gun’s muzzle brake.
This installation of this gun was possibile without too large modifications in the turret . As the gun did not have the same diameter it will be necessary to install a reduction’s collar on the gun mantler
Problem ! Site’s site was less important but the fire power of Achilles was very terrific for the new germans Tanks
Achilles transported 50 shells in the frame
Versions built
Achilles IC of initial production and the Model II C which had one interior turret adapted perfectly to the British requirements.
Moreover additional armour-plateswild be installed on the turret
