2000 vehicules furent livrés à l' Armée rançaise en 1940 et ils furent ensuite saisis et utilisès par les Allemands. Il mesurait et avait un moteur de 77 CV 6 cylindres Son PTAC etait de 1.5 tonnes

En 1940, environ 1000 GMC AFKWX-353, 3 tonnes 6x6,furent commandés par les Français avant leur défaite et suite à la capitulation de la franc e les véhicules de ce marché seront détournés vers la Grande-Bretagne.
Ces ex french contrats étaient différents de ceux produits pour les force militaires des États-Unis Nottament sur le chassis plus long et surtout il possèdait un moteur moins puissant.
Les britanniques deidèrent que le ACKWX-353 ne convennait pas pour les operations militaires en raison de sa taille et de puissance.
Suite à l'invasion de l' URSS les Britanniques vont fournir à l' URSS à partir de 1941 ces camions se débarrassant ainsi de ces camions .
Bien sûr, Ils ne vont pas juger de la même façon le successeur direct de l'ACKWX, le bien connu "Deuce and a half

In 1940, some 1000 GMC ACKWX-353, 3-ton, 6x6 trucks, ordered by the French before their defeat and due to the latter not delivered anymore, were diverted to Britain.
These "ex-French-contracts" differed from those produced for the domestic US Quartermaster mainly by the type of cargo body, the smaller engine and the significantly longer (177in. to 164in.) longer wheelbase.
The British recipients deemed the ACKWX-353 unsuitable for military use due to its size and power.
The need to supply Russia with trucks from 1941 on therefore arose as a welcome means for the British to get rid of at least a certain amount of the trucks.
Of course, they later significantly changed their mind with regard to the direct successor of the ACKWX, the well-known "Deuce-and-a-half".
