Il s'agit d'une version blindée produite à 80 exemplaires dans les années 90. par les Etablissements CBH (Constructions Blindées d'Hardricourt)à la demande de Peugeot
La P4P ou le chainon manquant entre le VBL et le PVP
En effet les guerres asymétriques qui ont succédé au traditionnel conflit Est vs Ouest a mis en avant le manque de protection des véhicules légers de liaison comme les Hummer et le véhicule de la classe G Wagen dont fait partie la P4
En effet pour transporter un équipage en toute sécurité il a fallu détourner des leur but premier les VBL voire les VAB dans l Armée française
Une solution intermédiaire en attendant la mise au point du PVP fut de blinder les P4
80 P4 subirent ce traitement . le résultat accoucha d’une tortue .
Certes l’équipage était protégé (relativement) mais la P4 était devenu un engin peu rapide et sans reprise
Il faut attendre l’arrivée en corps de troupe du PVP pour trouver un engin blindé léger spécifiquement construit pour cela qui allie protection , rapidité et efficacité
Diverses versions du P4 P pont été mises au point dénommées selon la longueur de leur châssis (2400-2850 et 3120cm)

Ces engins furent utilisés en Ex Yougoslavie et au Liban Le bilan est mitigé voire même peu favorable
La motorisation est assurée par un 2.5 litres turbo échangeur modifié par CBH d’une puissance de 150 cv
