Comme ce vehicule est classé Restricted il ne peut être exposé dans le Musée car il faut éviter que le grand public puisse toucher le blindé . En effet ce véhicule est peint avec une peinture RAP ou Radar Absorbent Paint C 'est donc un char Stealth , sur un chassis de Mark 12.
En plus de cette peinture RAP il doit être équipé d'autres moyens de «réduction de sa signature» nottament au niveau du trainde roulement avec sa jupe en forme de balai qui "brosse et gomme les traces de passage sur les pistes.
Il est en état de marche et participe régulierement à un certain nombre d'événements.
The classification of this vehicle is ‘Restricted’ so it must be kept and secured accordingly. While it can be displayed in the Tank Museum, there must be some means of preventing the general public from touching this vehicle. This is to stop the general public from removing or damaging the Radar Absorbent Paint (RAP) that this vehicle is painted with. (Source: Museum Vehicle Record).
This is the so-called ‘Stealth’ Chieftain tank, based on a Mark 12. As well as having RAP it appears to have been fitted with other ‘signature reduction’ methods such as blanking off the roadwheels and fitting brush ‘dust flaps’ for the tracks.
It is in running order and has taken part in a number of events
