Apres le conflit cino_soviétique de 1969 la Chine commencca le developpement d'un char lourd . Le premier prototype fut prêt en 1970 mais seulement pour le chassis qui fut testé avec une tourelle soudée d'un autre char . Le developpement de ce prototype fut arrété par la Révolution Culturelle. Ce char est leurd chrd Lourd qui fut tésté par la Chine durant cette période

When the Sino-Soviet border conflict ended in 1969, China began the development of a heavy tank. The first heavy tank prototype was completed in 1970. Since the design of turret was not ready when the chassis was being tested, a turret of welded armour plate was temporarily used.
The development of the heavy tank was interrupted by the Culture Revolution. This tank is the only heavy tank in China's tank development history.
