  Le developpement de cette automitrailleuse est basé sur le chassis de la Crossley D2E2 et il est achevé en 1928 /1929 . Au debut il possède un équipage 3 personne  qui rapidement porté à 4 avec le modèle Mark I Cet engin fut fabriqué par la Royal Ordnance Factory en utilisant le chassis du canon 3 essieux d'un modèle de la gamme civile du constructeuriAu total 5 Armourec Car type Mark I furent fabiquées un total de 5 engins furent fabriqué  et utilisé<s par la Brtish Army , 3  d'entre elles recoirvent une immaticurion  HX6802, HX6803  and HX6804
lles furent envoyées  en Egyptb mais leur efficacité ne fut pas demontrées et elles furent rapatriées
L'engin fut cexclusivement utilisé par l'Armée Britannique  Mais une petite serie fut construit par Crossley pour l Armé Irakienne avant le 2e Guerre Mondiale

Crossley

Crosleyy Mk I Armored  Car was the production developem of the Crossley D2E2, which had been completed in the 1928/29. Considered a light vehicle, the D2E2 carried a  crew of three; but this was later increased to four with the Mark I. Like  the D2E2, the Mark I was built by the Royal Ordnance Factory using the
Crossley BGV three-axle truck chassis  and a locally fabricated body.
A total of five Mk Is were completed with three of the five registration numbers being HX6802, HX6803  and HX6804. For a time the cars were sent to Egypt, but they proved  to have poor cross-country performance  and didn't perform well in the hot climate. Returned to Britain they served as training vehicles until early  World War II.
  Crossley Mk I was only  used by the British Army. A few similar cars were completed as a commercial  venture and sold to Iraq prior WW2
