Merkava Siman 1 Hybrid Saumur 2021

Le Merkava. Siman 1 Hybrid Saumur 2021
English Version

The Merkava. Mark 2

Israel has always fought for its existence since its independence in 1948. This state has always depended for his weapons from external sources of supply, to mention only the main France and the United States.
In order to gain a degree of independence the State of Israel has decided in the early 70 years to develop and build a tank for these units armoured tanks  Tis MBT received the name  Merkava which means in Hebrew trolley.
History of the vehicle
Unable to acquire more heavy armoured vehicles following an embargo imposed by various nations, Israel do not face to
the armored forces of the Arab nations which surround it
Also in August 1970 the decision was taken ; The new MBT  will be manufactured in Israel and his father is the General Israel Tal.
This tank is quite different from other tanks built in the world. For Israel there is a fundamental principle the fighter is a precious, therefore we must protect it at all costs
Moreover man lies at the heart of the matter and we will find a craft original. The power unit is located at the front of the tank and protects the crew. It is also devoid of any   flammable source munitions are stored fire proof containers to prevent the explosion of the tank . A rear door provides easy access to the passenger compartment and at the same time it allows the recovery of other soldiers.
A 60-mm mortar and several machine guns were mounted on the turret NRBC protection is present, however, we do not find capable amphibious it must be said that Israel has no need. Based on these specifications General Israel Tal great specialist Armour prepares for the new tank
Currently four generations of Merkava were built in arms factories.
The first type char Merkava Mark 1 integrated the Army during the the fight in April 1982 in Lebanon during Operation Peace for Galilee. They immediately dominant on their opponents the second generation Merkava Mark 2 was delivered in 1984.
A third-generation Mark 3  came on the battlefield in 1990 it is currently the backbone of the Israeli armored force The difference between the mark2 holds between 3 and the other at a firing more sophisticated
Finally the mark 4 becomes operational in 2003. This MBT is characterized by its turret composed of different boxes that can be filed is replaced when damaged. With the  Mark 4  I think that the Merkava as it is now, can no longer move
The MBT exposed in Saumur is a hybrid between the mark 1and 2; This vehicles has fought in Israel with the 7th Armoured Brigade. But this machine is empty within the engine compartment and the turret have been emptied of all their equipment.
Despite this we must avoid doing so fussy and we say that a MBT such as the Merkava is rarely exhibited in the museums
