L’armée italienne a acquis rarement du matériel majeur de construction française. En effet depuis des VCI AMX13 plus aucun matériel majeur n’avait été acquis par les Italiens jusqu’à l’achat dernièrement du VAB NBC

Le VBR NBC dans l’armée italienne.
L’armée italienne possède un seul régiment de défense NBC. Celui-ci est cantonné à Civitavecchia à peu de distance de Rome et il est issu de la transformation du 7° régiment d’artillerie lourde Cremona en7°Régiment de défense NBC Cremona un peu à l’image de notre 2°Régiment de Dragons en France. Chaque compagnie du régiment possède un peloton de NBC qui est chargé de procéder aux relevés et aux analyses. Ce peloton doit donc avoir des engins adaptés à sa mission.
Les besoins de l’armée italienne étaient de 18 véhicules. L’armée française avait de son côté construit 40 unités VAB NBC mais suite aux restructurations intervenues à la fin des années 90 elle n’avait plus besoin que d’une vingtaine d’engins.
Cet excédent de véhicules correspondait parfaitement aux besoins de l’Esercito Italiano d’autant plus que les délais de mise au point d’un système NBC national basé sur le Puma étaient trop longs.
Cet achat sur étagère fut donc une bonne affaire pour les deux parties. Les véhicules durent être toutefois modifiés pour les mettre aux standards italiens.

Ce véhicule est entré en dotation dans l’armée italienne sous le nom de VBR NBC (Véicolo Blindato di Ricognizione) Par contre contrairement aux francais je ne sais si les Italiens disent N R B C ou N B C
Caractéristiques
Il est extrêmement similaire au VAB français.
Pour un poids de 14 t avec un équipage de 4 hommes il possède un équipement interne qui comprend une climatisation totale de l’habitat ainsi qu’une pressurisation une filtration. Il possède un spectromètre de masse avec le four Chromatographe gazeux (GC)
Il peut prélever des échantillons au sol et il possède un appareil de détection d’agents chimiques dans l’air (AP2C-V) Il peut aussi détecter les agents radioactifs dans l’air Mais l’appareil le plus important est le système SUKSUR 1070 qui est un appareil de mesure radiologique. Grâce à deux sondes placées de chaque cote du véhicule il peut mesurer le niveau des agents Gama
Il possède aussi une sonde portable il est équipé du GPS. Il peut marquer la zone par des fanions normalisés et de plus il possède une station météo
Les 2 roulette arrières servent a détecter serve a analyser en surface le terrain et une sonde permet une analyse en profondeur
Ceux-ci peuvent être analyser directement grâce au spectromètre de masse MM1 qui se trouve dans l’habitacle
L’équipage possède une panoplie complète de protection individuelle tenues et masques adaptées aux sorties sur le terrain contaminé
Son autonomie est de 1000kms pour une vitesse maximale de 90Km/et non

The 2 rear wheel serve to an analyze of the ground surface and a probe allows for depth analysis
These can be analysed directly through the mass spectrometer MM1 which is located in the passenger compartment
The crew has a full range of personal protective clothing and masks suitable for field trips contaminated
Its autonomy is 1000kms for a maximum speed of  90Km
