Malgré qu'il ai été livré en 1945 en Angleterre cet avion ne verra jamais le combat . Il resta en service dans le USAF dans diveres unites de l' ANG ( Air National Guard)
Ensuite il fut cédé à des civils Mais en 1968 il fut remilitarisé par Cavalier Aircrafvt pour être livré à la  Fuerza Aerea Salvadoreña  ou il recut le numero de serie Fuerza Aerea Salvadoreña 406 . il resta en service jusqu'en 1974. Il a du avoir son baptème du feu durant la  guerre de 1969 ou guerre des 100 heures ou guerre du football contre les Red Bull F4U-4 Corsair, qui étaient en service dans les Forces Aériennes Honduras
Ensuite il faut vendu et peint aux couleurs de 352 Figther Group basé à Bodney  en 1944. C'etait un warbird bien connu aux États-Unis,avant d'tre vendu à un collectionneur francais début de 2013  . il est aux couleurs du P-51D Mustang 414237 "Moonbeam McSwine" du  487th FS, 352nd FG,

Despite being delivered to the UK in 1945, this Mustang didn't see any active service and instead returned to the US. It remained in USAF serivce with various Air National Guard units until demobbed in 1958. After a period of civil operation, it was reworked by Cavalier Aircraft and in 1968 it joined the Fuerza Aerea Salvadoreña (serial number Fuerza Aerea Salvadoreña n°'406'  who operated it until 1974. There is every chance that it saw combat in the 1969 soccer war and may have come up against what is now the Red Bull F4U-4 Corsair, which was in FAH service at the time!Painted in the colours of the 352FG based at Bodney during 1944, she was a well known warbird in the US, however it was sold to France in early 2013 and was making it's first appearance at Legends.
